Verle Ball

She was born in Norway on May 28, 1929, to Joseph and Armeda (Ziller) Pellegrini. Verle graduated in 1947 from Norway High School and worked at Vertin’s Department Store.

She married Andrew R. Ball on Oct. 21, 1950, at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan. He preceded her in 1979. Together they raised three daughters. She was a stay-at-home mom while they were growing and then worked for Anderson Motors and Tavernini Insurance.

In retirement, she traveled with her friend Marge Haelterman across the U.S. and Europe. A fall sent her to live with her daughters in Menominee until her recent illness.

She was a life-long member of St. Barbara’s Church and the Women’s Group, the Women of the Moose, the Norway Senior Citizens’ Center, the Anderson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Jake Menghini Museum.

Verle is survived by her daughters, Janice, Jean, Joan; nephew, Glen (Peggy) Dallariva and his daughters Nicole, Rachele Patterson, and Jenna. She is further survived by great-nephews, Brian (Amy) and Brad Renzelmann; four great-great nieces and nephew; and adopted grand-dog, Bella.

She was preceded by her parents; husband; sister and brother-in-law Mildred and Sam Dallariva; brother and sister-in-law, Elmo and Mildred Pellegrini; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Raymond and Eileen Ball; and niece, Beverly Saran.

Family will greet friends on Tuesday, July 9, from 10 to11 a.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the church, with Fr. Marty Flynn, officiating.

Interment will be held in the Norway Township Cemetery.
