Gloria A. Kivi

She was born on Dec. 31, 1954, in Lancaster, Pa., daughter of Franklin J. and Mary E. (Gerlach) Sprout. As a military family, they moved often and was raised in Delaware, Miss., and graduated from Tawas City Area High School in Michigan, class of 1973. Gloria moved to Escanaba in 1981.

On July 2, 1983, Gloria married Michael W. Kivi in Escanaba. He preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 2023.

Gloria was employed at the paper mill as a machine operator until her retirement in 2017.

She was an avid daily reader and was proud of her book collections. Gloria enjoyed genealogy, gardening, going to camp, doing cross stitch, and making glass garden statues with her sister.

Gloria is survived by her two sons, Matthew (Amanda) Kivi of Foster City and Adam (BilliAnne) Kivi of Rock Spring, Wy.; two grandchildren, Charlie Kivi and Mason Kivi; sister, Helen Foreman of Escanaba; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Michael.
