John Lee Givogre

He was born in Iron Mountain, to parents James and Lennia Givogre.

John attended Iron Mountain High School until his senior year, and graduated from Kingsford High in 1957. He served in the U.S. Navy for 3 years and then married the late Doreen McMahon of Kingsford in 1964. He lived and worked in Iron Mountain/Kingsford until moving to Gainesville, permanently in 2015 to be near family.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Doreen, in 2006, his grandson, John Lee Givogre III, in 2015 and his sister, Mary Ann Wahoviak, in 2023.

He is survived by his sons, John Givogre of Gainesville and James Givogre of Lula, Ga.; daughter, Gina Givogre of Fairfield, Conn.; daughter-in-law, Tonya (John) Givogre of Gainesville; and daughter, Jill (Dennis) Ellie of Peshtigo, Wis. John also leaves grandchildren Katie and Lucas Brandt, Caroline (Zach) Dodd, Hannah Weathers and Sam Latone; and two great granddaughters, Maple Mae Dodd and Jubilee Weathers. He is also survived by two sisters, Patricia Hinkley of Kingsford and Joanie Cowling of Iron Mountain; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Arrangements for a graveside service and burial in Iron Mountain will be at a later date.
