Thomas Pfister

QUINNESEC — Thomas Anthony Pfister, 79, of Quinnesec passed away on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center.

Tom was born on June 7, 1945, in Jamaica, N.Y., the son of the late Anthony and Marian (Rouse) Pfister. He enlisted with the U.S. Navy on Oct. 5, 1965, and served until Oct. 4, 1967, while living in California.

Tom moved to Michigan in 1980, to raise his family. After his return he took a position as a cook for the priests at the local rectory. Tom was an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time at camp, fishing, hunting, and observing animals and nature. Tom also enjoyed playing his bass guitar in his younger years, watching the Packers, and collecting historical guns.

Tom is survived by his two children, Ken Pfister and Shawn Pfister; three grandchildren, Josh, Karina, and Gabby Pfister; his beloved dog, Ed; and many other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by a grandchild, Wolfgang Pfister, and his sister, Juliette Christiansen.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home, 901 Carpenter Ave., followed by the funeral service starting at 11 a.m. with Father Janusz Romanek officiating. Burial will be in the Norway Township Cemetery.
