Henry ‘Hank’ Michaud
IRON MOUNTAIN — Henry “Hank” Adam Michaud, 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday Sept. 1, 2024, at Florence Health Services in Florence, Wis. after a courageous 15-month battle with cancer.
He was born on Jan. 13, 1947, in Iron Mountain, to the late Earl and Mildred (Jackomino) Michaud. Hank was a lifelong resident of the area and was part of the Kingsford class of 1966.
He will forever be remembered for his remarkable personality and bright smile. He enjoyed water skiing, boating, fishing, fast cars and going to the race tracks to run the quarter mile. The bigger the horsepower the better the race.
In his later years, he enjoyed winters in Sarasota, Fla. with his wife of 42 years, Greta (Hedlund) Michaud. They enjoyed all the fun a retirement community had to offer including cruises and traveling throughout the United States.
Michaud Trucking, Inc, the family business his parents started when he was a child is where he spent his life working and growing it into the business it is today. Most days he could be found near his well-polished Peterbilt, black of course.
Hank’s legacy will live on in his two sons, Mark (Dana) Michaud, Michael (Andrea) Michaud; grandsons, Adam (fiance, Amber) Michaud; Brett (Elizabeth), their children, Michell and Carver Michaud; Connor (special friend, Michaela) Michaud; stepchildren David (Mary) Carlson, grandson, Joshua and his three children; Danny (Sally) Carlson; granddaughter, Camie Carlson, Dayna (Paul Tessier) Carlson, grandson, Evan Carlson.
He leaves a wealth of cherished friends and coworkers, many who faithfully visited him throughout his illness.
We are thankful that Hank reconnected with Ginny before he started his cancer journey and will be forever grateful for the time they spent together and all she did for him.
Along with his parents, Hank was preceded in death by his wife, Greta; his sister, Delores (Michaud) Adams; his maternal and paternal grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
A future private celebration of life is planned.
The family would like to thank Dr. Alay Mansurov and the Bellin Care Team in Marinette, Wis. Dr. James Thomas, professor of Medicine and Oncology at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Dr. Yamil Kouri, oncologist at the Cancer Center in Sarasota.
