Joseph A. ‘Papa’ Majewski

GOODMAN, Wis. — Joseph A. “Joey” “Papa” Majewski, 75, of Goodman, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024.

He was born in Laona on Sept. 12, 1949; son of the late John and Stella (Dziewiontkoski) Majewski. Joey graduated from Goodman-Armstrong Creek High School and on the following day was united in marriage (June 1, 1968) to Renee Klescewski at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. They were so proud and excited to welcome their daughter Shawn to complete their family.

After marriage, Joey and Renee moved to Green Bay but after a short career in a Green Bay mill, they soon realized that their forever home was back in Goodman. Once there, Joey worked at the Goodman Veneer Mill as a Foreman. He also drove semi and logging trucks for many companies before completing his dream of owning his own logging truck.

Joe loved hunting and enjoyed his trips to Canada. Joey also loved playing the concertina for over 60 years and was inducted into the Concertina Hall of Fame in 2023.

He was known to always have projects going that kept him busy. He was always available to help other people when the need arose and quick to donate his time.

Joe is survived by his wife, Renee; daughter, Shawn (Sean) Meier; grandchildren, Savannah, Darren, Justin, and David; brothers and sister, Dennis (Sonya) Majewski, Barbara Corrigan, and Eugene (Marlene) Kieta; and further survived by numerous extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, James and Julie; and brothers, Walter and John.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday Sept. 26, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Goodman with Father Soja Joseph officiating. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.

A heartfelt thank-you to the surrounding community for your support over the years, with a special thank-you to the Goodman-Armstrong Rescue Squad and Fire Department, including friends and family, for your response and care.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Goodman-Armstrong Rescue Squad or Goodman Fire Department. A memorial fund will be established in Joey’s name.
