Mary L. Woodworth

MARQUETTE — Mary L. Woodworth, 89, of Marquette, passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, at Brookridge Heights Memory Care in Marquette.

She was born on May 11, 1935, in Iron River, a daughter of the late Henry and Beatrice (Bolduc) Turcotte. She attended the Iron River Schools graduating in the 1953 class.

She worked for many years at the American Motors Plant in Iron River and later received her nurse aide certificate and worked at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls retiring in 1998.

Mary married Frank Ciochetto Jr. on July 11, 1953, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River. The couple made their home in Iron River and Frank preceded her in death on July 12, 1987. She married Ronald Woodworth in October of 2007 at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Ron preceded her in death on May 28, 2015.

She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, traveling and playing cards with her family and friends.

Mary is survived by sons, John Ciochetto of Arizona, Jeff (Kelley Kramer) Ciochetto of Ohio, and Joel Ciochetto of Texas, daughter, Jackie (Joe) Esbrook of Marquette; daughter-in-law, Dorine Doyle (Scott) King, son-in-law, Daniel (Maria) Leeman; brother, John (June) Turcotte of Marquette; 11 grandchildren, Nickolas Esbrook, Joshua Esbrook, Abigail Esbrook, Sarah Leeman, Zachary Ciochetto, Alan Ciochetto, Mathew Ciochetto, Jennifer Sagoo, Alicia Ciochetto, Kathleen Tucker, Emily Ciochetto; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, James Ciochetto; daughter, Jeanne Leeman; daughter-in-law, Jennifer (Joel) Ciochetto grandson, Michael Ciochetto; sisters, Yvonne Shamion, Elizabeth Stapleton and Corrine Gaspari.

The family would like to thank the staff at Brookridge Heights Memory Care and UP Home Health & Hospice for the wonderful care they provided and Mary’s friend, Sue Chiconsky and her family for their friendship.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River with Rev. Daniel Fosu officiating. A luncheon will follow the services in the church hall. Interment will take place in Resthaven Cemetery.
