Raymond A. Niemi

He was born on April 11, 1934, in Crystal Falls, to the late Toivo and Elizabeth (Eckola) Niemi.

He married Betty Ann Tamminen on Aug. 18, 1956. He was a member of United Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls. He enjoyed old cars, golfing, and traveling.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Betty Ann Niemi; sons, Raymond (Nancy) Niemi Jr., Dean (Teresa) Niemi, and Craig (Mary Fende) Niemi; daughter, Diane (Ken) Johnson; brother, Richard “Dick” (Marcie) Niemi; seven grandchildren, Chelsea (Andy), Dean Jr. (Andrea), Nicole (Lauren), Matthew (Christin), Rick (Sarah), Jim (Tara), and Brad; and eight great-grandchildren, Ava, Evan, Westin, Blaise, Cayden, Coltyn, Claire, and Eleanor.

Visitation will be from 9 until 11 a.m., on Friday, Sept. 27, at United Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., at the church with Pastor DJ Rasner officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to the staff of Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson for the excellent care and concern provided to their father.
