Larry Rusch
RANDVILLE — Larry Clayton Rusch, 87, of Randville was called home to Jesus on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024.
He was born in Iron Mountain on June 23, 1937, the son of the late Clayton and Linda (Ott) Rusch. Larry graduated from Channing High School in 1955, and on Jan. 10, 1956, he enlisted with the U.S. Navy for four years.
He later met the love of his life, Janice O’Blenes, and on May 11, 1968, they were married at First Baptist Church in Norway. Larry was a hard worker, taking positions with Grede Foundry, the Groveland Mine, and K-Mart before winding down to his retirement, driving coach to the casinos for Yorkshire Tours.
Larry was a very active member of the Randville Bible Church. He also enjoyed serving his community through seats with the North Dickinson School Board, Sagola Senior Center Board, and DICSA. In his free time Larry enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and working on jigsaw puzzles.
Larry will be deeply missed by his wife of 56 years, Janice; two daughters, Pamela (Peter) Alfredson and Paula (Ian) Miller; two grandsons, Ethan Miller and Eric Alfredson; two siblings, Edith Mitchem and Jerry (Jeanne) Rusch; a sister-in-law, Barbara (Paul) Heupel; several nieces and nephews; all the staff that became friends on his daily trips to Storheim’s; and many other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by a brother, Tom Rusch.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home, 901 Carpenter Ave., with Pastor James Janofski officiating the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Norway Township Cemetery.
