Mary Glanville

NORWAY — Mary Elizabeth Glanville, 58, of Norway, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024 at her home in Norway.

She was born on Feb. 26, 1966, in Saginaw, Mich., the daughter of James and Nancy (Stickney) Block.

Mary grew up in Ontonagon and graduated from Ontonagon High School in 1984. She attended Northern Michigan University where she met her husband, Todd Glanville. She graduated from NMU in 1993 and married Todd on Aug. 7, 1993.

Mary was a faithful parishioner to St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway. She was a lector and always participated in various church activities. Her kind heart and generosity will be greatly missed. Along with being a wonderful friend, daughter, and sister, Mary was the best mom.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Nicole (Travis) Moon and Kimberly Glanville; grandson, Murphy Moon; her parents, Jim and Nancy Block; brothers, James (Lisa Mulder) Block, John (Dulce) Block, and David (Heather Burson) Block; sister, Anne (Brad) Perala; mother-in-law, Betty Glanville; sister-in-law, Julie (David) Santi; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by husband, Todd; and father-in-law Richard “Dick” Glanville.

Family would like to extend a special thank you to Mary’s neighbors of South Circle Drive, Integrity and North Alert EMS, Rev. Fr. Marty Flynn, and Officer Ryan Rossler of the Michigan State Police.

Family will greet friends on Monday, Oct.14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway, with Parish Prayers at 6:30 p.m.

Family will also greet friends on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway, with Fr. Marty Flynn, officiating.

Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
