Nancy L. Shepich

She was born on Dec. 20, 1926, in Iron River, the daughter of the late Gordon and Pauline (Worth) Jacobson. She attended and graduated from the Iron River Schools, with the Class of 1944.

Following graduation, she attended Badger Business College in Green Bay, Wis.

She was employed as a secretary with the West Iron County School System for over 20 years.

Nancy married Victor S. Shepich on June 21, 1947, at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on 2012, before Victor preceded her in death on March 21, 2013.

Nancy was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian, St. Anne’s Society, and Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel.

She enjoyed cooking, reading, traveling, and especially loved spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her sons, John (Linda) of Ludington, Mich., Gary (Mary) of Richland, Mich., and Paul (Dianne) of Livonia, Mich.; brother, William (Peggy) Jacobson; sister, Joyce (Warren) Dellies; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Stephen Shepich; brothers, Gilbert (Eva) Jacobson and Karl Carlson; and sister, Shirley Jacobson.

Services will be held in the spring.
