IRON MOUNTAIN — Clayton Paul Miller, 77, of Iron Mountain, died Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Optalis Health and Rehabilitation in Kingsford.
He was born on Feb. 15, 1948 in Aurora, Neb., the son of the late William and Dorothy (Peterson) Miller.
After high school, Clayton went on to trade school and became a pipefitter. He joined the Union 455 and traveled all over the U.S. working on projects. He retired in 2010.
He married Joan (Williams) Vaughn on Aug. 29, 1998, and they moved to Iron Mountain after he retired.
Clayton enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, gardening and traveling.
He was an avid Vikings fan.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; son, Josh (Tamla) Miller; step-children, Tammy (Jack) Milbrath and Martin Vaughn; grandchildren, Bishop Miller, Brittnee (Andrew) Crosson, Tyler (Erin) Milbrath and Sadie (Cole Westphal) Milbrath; great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Madyson, Maxwell, Eliza and one on the way; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Clayton was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence and Ronald Miller, and his sister, Joan Sjogren.
Family will greet friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, May 26, at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Norway.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Evangelical Covenant Church with Pastor Jim Danielson, officiating.
