IRON MOUNTAIN — Joseph “Joe” A. Santi, 91, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at his home.
He was born on April 19, 1934, in Iron Mountain, to the late Enrico and Elizabeth (Cavalieri) Santi.
Joe was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain and graduated Iron Mountain High School, class of 1953. He married Janice Raffin on June 25, 1955, at Saint Mary and Saint Joseph Catholic Church. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, where he served as Eucharist Minister for over 25 years. Joe worked as an agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance and later owned and operated Santi & Sons, as a bricklayer.
He and Janice were winter “snowbirds” in Arizona for 30 years, where they enjoyed meeting many friends while ballroom dancing. One of Joe’s favorite pastimes was oil painting and his paintings were displayed at quite a number of art shows.
He looked forward to going to his camp with his boys and grandsons, Anthony, Paul, and Sam. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and had many camp friends. He was faithful at doing daily word search.
Joe was a member of the Iron Mountain School Board, Dickinson/County Mental Health Board, Paisano Club, Dickinson County Board of Commissioners, Immaculate Conception Church Board of Finance and the Iron Mountain Chapter of Golden K International.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Janice Santi; sons, Duane (Lori) Santi, Tony (Patti Milinski) Santi, and David (Julie) Santi; daughters, Margaret (Kevin) Voland, and Jolene (Jimmy) Costello; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren with the 16 great-grandchild due in October; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Santi, and Paul Santi; and sister, Lorraine Keller.
Visitation will be from 3 until 4:30 p.m., on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Prayers will be recited at 4:30 p.m., on Thursday at the funeral home. A Memorial Mass will be held at 5 p.m., on Thursday, June 26, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain, Mich., with Father Michael Chenier officiating. A dinner will be held in the parish hall immediately following the Mass.
