HAMILTON LAKES — Pete Charles Fontana, age 68 of Hamilton Lakes passed away peacefully at his home.

Pete was the youngest of six children born to the late Joseph and Frances (Larson) Fontana.

He attended Kingsford Schools graduating in 1974 where he proudly played football and taught himself to play guitar.

He worked in real estate and as a right-of-way agent.

He married Annette “Nettie” Reid on Sept. 12, 1992. Pete and Nettie’s family grew with the birth of their daughter, Maria, in 1993 and their son, Peter II, in 1995.

Music was Pete’s passion. He was a gifted guitar player. He also enjoyed the Packers, nature, fishing, and camping. He was a very spiritual man who led his family to walk with Our Lord Jesus, and taught us that relationship with God was more than a building. He took great pride in his roots at Fontana Aviation, his country, and his family.

Pete is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Nettie; his children, Maria (Nick) Rowell and Peter (Brooke) Fontana; his sister, Kay Steinbrecher; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Constance Reid-Guffey (Scott Guffey), Kathleen (Gary) Hummel), Susan (Bill) DeVoe, Barbara Zeugner, Clark (Joanne) Reid. And his beloved dog, Buster. In addition he leaves numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Francie Fontana; his brothers, Joe (Cheryl), Mark, Tommy, Jimmy; and a half-sister, Rosalie Bailey; his mother and father-in-law, Laurence and Rita Reid and a brother-in-law, Ron Zeugner.

Please don’t cry because Pete is gone, rejoice because he touched our lives and his laugh will never leave our memories.

Please come celebrate the life of Pete Fontana Wednesday, July 2, visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Faithorn Methodist Church in Faithorn.

Funeral Service will be at 1 p.m. at the church with Jeff Gagne officiating.

Internment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Faithorn.

Followed by a luncheon at the Faithorn Town Hall.
