Sharon A. Dougoveto

1945-2025

Sharon A. Dougoveto

BREITUNG TOWNSHIP –î Sharon A. Dougoveto, 79, longtime resident of Breitung Township, entered into her eternal rest on Saturday, June 7, 2025, with her family surrounding her.

Sharon was born July 24, 1945, to the late Robert and Dorothy Alberti. She grew up in Quinnesec, graduated from Kingsford High School in 1963, and earned her teaching certificate four years later.

Sharon taught in the primary grades, an enthusiastic and much-loved teacher, for seven years before marrying John Dougoveto in 1973 and starting a family. John and Sharon welcomed six children and built their home in Breitung Township where they resided for the last 48 years. Over the last 16 years they welcomed 25 grandchildren upon whom Sharon so tenderly showered her love and joy. They were all accustomed to four-wheeler rides with Grandma around the forty, watching her tend to the flowers around her home, seeing her sitting at her sewing machine, the excitement of maple syrup season in the spring and snuggling up to her on her front porch swing.

Sharon had an unwavering faith in God’s love for her. She never doubted His presence in her life and welcomed every circumstance, even her diagnosis, as a gift from a God who loved her. She never sought attention or acknowledgement for the little ways she loved those around her and the countless ways she let the Holy Spirit use her to love others. Her unwavering faith, joyful acceptance, and humble service are the legacy she leaves for all her children and grandchildren who will each terribly miss her warm embrace, joyful laughter, and the countless happy hours spent in her presence.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dr. John Dougoveto; children, Walter (Kim) Dougoveto, Andrea Dougoveto, Angela Oller, Maria (Tom) Erickson, Anna Condit, Joseph (Mary Ellen) Dougoveto; grandchildren, Scarlett, Katelyn, and Robert Dougoveto; Mary and David Oller; Daniel, Sarah, Timothy, Esther, Ruth, and Anna Erickson; Jonah, Caleb, Rita, James, Rose, and Joseph Condit; Dominic, John, Paul, Charles, Isaac, Marie, and Thomas Dougoveto; brother, Robert (Grace) Alberti Jr.; sisters-in-law, Sheryl Alberti, Mary Calo, Ann (Tom) Martin, Lu Menghini, and Therese (Tom) Gross; special beloved daughters, Marlee Juergens and Monica Condit; faithful friend, Myrna (Tom) Heyboer; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dorothy Alberti; son-in-law, Luke Condit; granddaughter, Therese Dougoveto; brother, Chris Alberti; and brothers-in-law, John Calo and Bernard Menghini.
