Connie Secrist

She was born Aug. 4, 1939, in Wilson, daughter of the late Leo and Tiny (LaCrosse) Raiche.

Connie married Roger Secrist on Sept. 5, 1959. He preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 2015.

She retired from Kmart after 25 years as the eatery manager.

Connie was known as “Connie Cakes” and the “Pasty Queen.” She loved cooking, berry picking, Busch Light, going to camp and the casino, her flowers and playing cards. She especially loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren.

Connie was a social butterfly, talked to everyone and easily made friends, she always said the more the merrier.

Connie is survived by her four children, Debbi (Daniel Diehl) Secrist of Loretto, Sally (Pete Jung) Bray of Vulcan, Sherry Rose of Kingsford and Roger (Chris) Secrist of Florence, Wis.; grandchildren Bryan Lindstrom, Kristopher (Suzanne) Lindstrom, Dustin (Marie) Teuteberg, Kristin (Dan Klitzke) Gendron, Amy (Evan) Sheedy, Casey Secrist, Dana Spruce, Keri Jo (Trevor) Johnson, Nicole (John) Weber, and Andy (Kara) Secrist; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; special niece Susan Stanek; many brothers and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her eight brothers and sisters.

Family will greet friends on Monday, Aug. 4, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Norway.

A memorial service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran with the Rev. Dr. Michael Langlais officiating.
