Elizabeth “Betsy” St. Peter

DENMARK, Wis. — Elizabeth “Betsy” St. Peter passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Aug. 8, 2025.

Betsy was born in Iron Mountain on Aug. 13, 1947, daughter of Albert and Charlotte (Olds) Lindberg.

Growing up, Betsy spent her days helping and working for the family business, Lindy’s Fruitstand. This is where Betsy learned to make her famous pasties! Betsy completed nursing school in Escanaba.

While in nursing school, she met Charles St. Peter. Betsy and Charles were married on March 9, 1968. Soon after, they moved to the Denmark area. Betsy worked as a nurse in Green Bay until she decided to stay at home and raise their four children.

Throughout the years, Betsy volunteered endless hours to the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America. Betsy was also one of Denmark’s favorite Avon ladies. Betsy was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking family meals and baking her famous cookies. Betsy was a talented knitter and could often be found with knitting needles in hand. Most of all, Betsy enjoyed spending time with her family.

Betsy is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles St. Peter; four children, Chuck St. Peter Jr. (Jennifer) of Denmark, Corey (Debbie) St. Peter of Denmark, Rebecca (TJ) Hampton of Henderson, Nev., daughter-in-law, Cheryl St. Peter of Maribel, Wis.; 14 grandchildren, Jack and Frank Rank, Jack, Charlie and Luke St. Peter, Coulter, Reagan, Hamilton and Cash Hampton, Tim Ruttner, Sophia (Corey) Schwahert, Olivia, Stephanie and Nate St. Peter; two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Arabella; nieces; nephews; and extended family.

Betsy was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Bev Lindberg; and her youngest son, Stephen “Chunk” St. Peter.

Visitation took place Monday, Aug. 18, at Cotter Funeral Home, 536 County Road R, Denmark, from 1 p.m. until a memorial service at 4 p.m.
