John W. Sivula

NATHAN — John W. Sivula, 94, of Nathan, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.

John was born on April 13, 1931, in Green Bay, Wis., to Matt and Julia (Wittrick) Sivula. On Jan. 11, 1964, John married Yvonne Draze in Spalding.

John owned/operated John Sivula Logging & Construction for many years. Never one to sit idle, John enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening and growing strawberries. He further enjoyed farming and working in his sawmill. John was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Yvonne; daughter Connie (Tim) Bruce; three sons, Matt (Kristin), John “Jay” (Terri) and Andrew; grandchildren Noel (Amanda) Bruce, Jacob (Emily) Bruce, Matthew (Holly) Sivula, Caleb Sivula, Abigail Sivula, Katie (Jason) DuPont, Sara (Tanner) Jacques and Mary Sivula; great-grandchildren Dylan, Landon, Braelyn, Charolette, Moses and Samuel Bruce, Juniper Jacques and Wilder DuPont.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Matt and Julia.

Visitation will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Daggett on Friday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon with the Rev. Charlie Crass officiating. Burial will be in Nadeau Township Cemetery.

Anderson Diehm Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established to benefit missionaries in John’s honor. Any expressions of kindness may be directed to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
