NORTH BRANCH, Mich. — Joanne L. Webb, 90, of North Branch, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, at Devonshire Senior Living in Lapeer.
Joanne was born at the family home in Kingsford, Mich., on April 30, 1935, the daughter of Olaf and Madeline (Grimord) Westby. She grew up in the Kingsford, area and graduated from Kingsford High School in 1953.
Joanne continued her education at Evanston Hospital School of Nursing-North Western University. Her nursing career consisted of working at three-four different medical facilities, retiring in 1992 after 20 years at St. Joseph Mercy-Oakland.
On June 20, 1959, Joanne married William “Bill” Webb in Iron Mountain, they were married for 57 years until Bill’s death in 2016.
She enjoyed volunteering and did so for 20 years at the North Branch Thrift Shop and her later years the Devonshire Independent Living Complex, where she lived for eight years.
Joanne enjoyed casino trips, vacations down south, cruises and time with her family and friends.
Joanne is survived by her children, Thomas (Tasha) Webb of Canonsburg, Penn., Michael (Barbara) Webb of Dexter, Mich., Steven Webb of Fairgrove, Mich., Lisa (Broc) Smith of Lapeer, Mich., son-in-law Jeffrey Petrusha of Waterford, Mich.; six grandchildren, Elizabeth (Chris Gibson) Webb, Matthew (Chelsie) Petrusha, Emily Webb, Zachary (Chelsea) Smith, Hannah (Andrew) Brock and Theresa Webb; six great-grandchildren, Evan, Nora, Tanner, Makensie, Lucas and Elliot; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her daughter, Susan Petrusha; her parents; and her brother, Kenneth Westby.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Devonshire Enrichment Program, North Branch Thrift Shop or the charity of your choice.
The family will be present for a gathering of family and friends from noon to 1 p.m. Eastern time Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, at St. Mary’s Burnside Catholic Church, with Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. The Rev. James Houbeck will officiate.
Joanne will be laid to rest next to her husband at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Mich.
