IRON MOUNTAIN — William “Bill” E. Larson, 72, of Iron Mountain, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
He was born June 15, 1953, in Stambaugh, son of the late Earl and Marcella (Holmes) Larson. Bill graduated from West Iron County High School in 1971 and served in the U.S. Army in Germany, where he met his wife. He married Kathleen “Kathy” A. Brunmeier on April 13, 1974, in Billings, Mont. He earned an electronics technical certification in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Bill began his career at the Empire Mine near Marquette. He later worked as an electrical instrumentation technician at the Niagara Paper Mill.
An avid outdoorsman, Bill loved hunting, fishing, camping, and anything that allowed him to be outside in nature. Bill enjoyed a good game of cribbage, cards, or croquet with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed a sauna on a cold winter’s day with his brothers. He was fond of pizza, Snickers Bars, Peanut Butter Cups, and Mackinac Island Fudge Ice Cream.
Bill will be deeply missed by his wife of 51 years, Kathy; daughter Nieko (Rick) Giuliani of Kingsford; son Josh Larson of Wausau, Wis.; daughter Aysha Larson (Yousef Alazman) of Saudi Arabia; three grandchildren, Mya Giuliani (Tyler Crandall), Naima Alazman, and Isa Alazman. He is also survived by his sister, Rose (Mike) Pelky of Plymouth, Wis.; brother-in-law Matt Obiden; and two brothers, Larry Larson of Amasa and Ron (Michele) Larson of Gladstone.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Lorna Obiden.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and entire health care staff at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center. Their care of Bill was kind and compassionate.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
