Nicholas Burklund

Nick was born on Jan. 26, 1979, in Norway, the son of Allan and Susan (Supa) Burklund.

He graduated from Norway High School in 1997.

Nick worked for Nickels Logging, Burklund Transportation and Verso, now Billerud Papermill in Quinnesec.

He loved spending his time with his children, coaching and going to their sporting events. Nick coached the Norway wrestling team with his son Bill and Tracy Haferkorn to three team state finals from 2013-15.

He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, going to camp and living on Lake Mary. The last several years he got to enjoy traveling with his family, going on spring break trips.

Nick is survived by his sons, Bill (Laura) Burklund and Caleb Burklund; daughters Hannah and Kendall Burklund; parents Allan and Sue Burklund; his inseparable twin brother, Nathaniel (Ericka) Burklund; sister Alison (Wade) Hamacher; nephew Maddex Burklund; nieces Rowyn and Bryn Hamacher and Addyson Burklund; and all his mill family at Billerud.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elmer and Aileen Burklund; and his maternal grandparents, Ed and Phyllis Supa.

Family will greet friends on Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Gagne officiating.
