SPALDING — Donald “Don” W. O’Neil, 90, Spalding, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, at his home with loving family by his side.

He was born on Nov. 2, 1934, in Powers, son of the late Bernard “Ben” and Anna (Wolf) O’Neil. On Oct. 17, 1954, he married the former Dolores DeLoughary.

Don graduated from Powers-Spalding High School. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 324 for over 70 years and worked for Bacco Construction his entire career as a heavy equipment operator for 50 years until his retirement. He loved his Green Bay Packer football team and attended many games including a trip to a Super Bowl.

He is survived by four children, Debbie (Glenn) Pasko, Donna Lacosse, Dan (Carla) O’Neil and Doreen (Charles) Fazer; 10 grandchildren, Jessica, Mark, Dennis, Christopher, David, Andrea, Andrew, Casey, Riley and Nikki; several great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Benny, Ken and Jim O’Neil.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Dennis O’Neil; an infant son, David O’Neil; and a son-in-law, Dan LaCosse.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Spalding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday at St. John Neumann Church with Father Benny Mathew officiating. Burial will follow Mass in the Spalding Township Cemetery. A luncheon will be held in the church parish hall.
