Horst ‘Heinz’ Teichert

Horst “Heinz" Teichert

FLORENCE, Wis. — On Nov. 23, 2025, Horst “Heinz” Teichert passed away after a three-year battle with lung disease at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson, with his wife, his daughter, and his sister-in-law at his side.

Heinz was born on Nov. 4, 1938, in Wetzlar, Germany, a son of the late Herman and Freida Teichert. Heinz came to Canada from Germany as a young man and eventually moved to Wisconsin. Heinz had multiple jobs and memories with his best friend, Leonard Lemanski. Heinz retired from the Niagara Telephone Company after 40-plus years, working alongside lifetime friends as a co-worker.

Heinz truly enjoyed gardening, always having the most beautiful flowers and gardens at his home. He was an avid deer hunter, shooting trophy bucks. Deer camp was even more special to him, with all the family coming to the house and making memories that would last forever. He also enjoyed fishing, especially catching large muskies. He enjoyed going to the casino and making many memories camping at the campgrounds in Eagle River and, just recently, in Gresham, Wis.

Heinz married his loving best friend, Edie, on July 14, 1990. Together, they built a beautiful family that meant everything to him.

Heinz leaves behind his beloved wife, Edie; and his daughter, Christy Boetcher; his three grandchildren, Brittany Jones (Jerry), Danny Jones, and Braden Boettcher (Kylie); four great-grandchildren, Karson, Scarlett, Sophia Schomer, and Gracie Andersen; and a special dog, Charlie. Heinz also leaves his six loved sisters-in-laws, three brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his sister, Elise Sonnenberg; his in-laws, Elmer and Edith Awe; his brothers-in-law, Larry Gille, Don Awe, Dick Krause, Tim Loberg; and his sister-in-law, Rosemary Loberg.

Heinz was previously married; he had three children, Lisa, John, and Nikki, along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 29, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home in Florence, Wis. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor James Danielson will officiate. Burial will follow at Commonwealth Cemetery in Commonwealth, Wis.

Pallbearers will be Danny Jones, Braden Boettcher, Jerry Buck, Jeff Boettcher, Dave Awe and Darrell Teall.
