Jeanne Doucette

Jeanne was born Dec. 4, 1945, in Iron Mountain, daughter of Russell and Katherine (Aird) Gibson. She was a 1964 graduate of Kingsford High School and a lifelong resident of the area. Jeanne was an executive secretary at M.J. Electric for several years before taking a position at Michaud Trucking, where she worked until her retirement. She enjoyed trying new recipes, catching up with friends over meals at local restaurants, occasional trips to the casino, and winters in Apache Junction, Ariz.

Jeanne is survived by her significant other, Jay Hunter of Kingsford; three sons, Bill Doucette of Montreal, Wis., Tom Doucette of Hurley, Wis., and Mike Doucette of Kingsford; her daughter, Julie (April) Doucette of Hurley, Wis.; a brother, Jack (Jan) Gibson of Escanaba; a sister, Mary Rock of Kingsford; her grandchildren, Branden (Kaitlyn) Doucette, Cody Doucette, Maddy Doucette, Marcus Doucette, and Ethan Doucette.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Wickman; and brothers-in-law, Ken Wickman and Jim Rock.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain, with services to follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Father Greg Heikkala will officiate. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
