Joyce Hinds

She was born July 27, 1935 in Norway, the daughter of the late Edwin and Angeline (DeYoung) Erlandson.

A lifelong resident of Norway, Joyce graduated from Norway High School in 1953.

She married James Hinds on Feb. 25, 1956, in Bethany Lutheran Church in Norway. He preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 2021.

Joyce worked for the City of Norway in a clerical position for over 22 years before retiring. She enjoyed visiting with her many life long friends and relatives on a daily basis.

Joyce was a dedicated mother and grandmother.

Joyce is survived by her son, Tom Hinds of Norway; grandson, Ty Hinds of Illinois; great-granddaughter, Jeilyn DeGuia of Illinois; great-grandson, Arlo James Hinds; sister-in-law, Jean Hinds of Marquette; and forever friends, Marvin and Marion, Pam and her God daughter, Anne Pollard; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her adopted granddaughter, Jolene Treml; and brother-in-law, Richard Hinds.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Norway.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Michael Langlais officiating.

Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
