Kenneth J. Pollock

IRON MOUNTAIN — Kenneth J. Pollock, 86, of Iron Mountain, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, at the Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson surrounded by his loving family.

Ken was born in Iron Mountain on March 5, 1939, son of the late Edgar and Luella (Owens) Pollock. He was a graduate of Channing High School. In his early years, Ken moved up to Juneau, Alaska, working for the Minfield Children’s Home. While living in Juneau, Ken met the love of his life, Verna Remus. They were married on Dec. 28, 1963. After stealing his jewel from Canada, Ken moved back to Iron Mountain and worked for Lake Shore Systems for a short bit before starting Iron Mountain-Kingsford Transit.

Ken will be remembered as a very relaxed and easy man to talk to. He enjoyed sharing stories on his bus, slinging dad jokes, and he never missed an opportunity to help others in need. Ken always kept busy working on his cars or adding to his other treasured collections that most others considered junk. While he loved spending time with people, his family was always first in his heart.

Ken will be deeply missed by his wife, Verna; four children, Karen (Sam), Ronald (Brenda), Timothy (Becky), and Nathan; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Erika, Abby, Zach, Jacob, Nikki, and Ryan; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, June; and many other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Ken is preceded in death by two siblings, Florence (Ernie) and Robert.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home, 901 Carpenter Ave., with Pastor Jim Janofski officiating the funeral service at noon. Burial will be in the Dickinson County Memorial Gardens.

Condolences may be expressed to the family of Kenneth J. Pollock online at www.ernashfuneralhomes.com.
