CENTERVILLE, Ohio — Lyle Duane Hulce, 87, passed away peacefully on Nov. 4, 2025, at Courtyard of Centerville in Centerville, Ohio, with his loving family surrounding him.
Lyle was born on Nov. 17, 1937, in Kingsford. He worked as a pipefitter/welder during his working career.
He was known for his love of God and family and was a charter member of Community Bible Chapel in Norway. His life was a beautiful example of God’s commandment to “love your neighbor as yourself.” If you asked for or needed help, he was always available, working as a plumber, welder, carpenter, farm helper, butcher, and lumberman in his helping career. He traveled to Central America, Africa, and Canada, using his skills on the mission field.
Lyle was an avid outdoorsman; hunting, fishing, and trapping, and passed on his love of these to many of his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Gloria Hulce (Blackberg); sister Sannie Giuliani; brothers Frank Hulce and Wayne (Mary) Hulce; sister-in-law Nancy Hulce; daughters Karen (Wally) Hoppe, Cindy (Dick) Berlinski, Susie (Tim) Beaulier and Linda (Jim) Rogers; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mae (Witz) Hulce; brothers Dave and Ron Hulce; sisters Alice Simonetti, June Hirte, Pauline King, and Wanda Lesandrini; son Keith Aaron Hulce, who died at birth; and son-in-law Dick Berlinski.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 14, at Washington Heights Baptist Church, 5650 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, OH 45429, beginning at 10 a.m.. A funeral service will follow at the church at 11 a.m., officiated by Pastor Justin Hoppe. Flowers may be delivered to the church between 8 and 10 a.m. on Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church, in honor of Lyle.
Burial will be at Quinnesec Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held at Community Bible Chapel, W6507 U.S. 2, Norway, at a later date.
