IRON MOUNTAIN — Douglas C. Edlund, 78, of Iron Mountain, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025, at Optalis Health and Rehabiliation in Kingsford, surrounded by his family.

He was born on Nov. 4, 1947, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Otis and Laverne (Crago) Edlund. Doug was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Iron Mountain High School, Class of 1965. He was united in marriage to Chris S. Stuart on June 23, 1965, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Iron Mountain. She preceded him in death on Aug. 17, 2007.

Doug was a master electrician and operated Electro Tech for 15 years. He then formed Douglas Electric, which he owned and operated for over 20 years before retiring.

Early on, Doug enjoyed model making and RC radio planes. In his later years, he enjoyed flying and even owned his own plane, watching western movies, and reading a good book.

Survivors include his children, Douglas (Cathy) Edlund of Nashville, Tenn., and Kathy (Scott) Doda of Niagara, Wis.; very special friend Cherry Lindberg of Iron Mountain; one brother, Russell (Sonya) Edlund of Roselle, Ill.; five grandchildren, Alec (Brianna) Doda, Keaghan (Dan) Robinson, Logan Doda, Emma Edlund and Sean Edlund; four great-grandchildren, Luca and Remi Doda and Carson and Haven Robinson; one brother-in-law, Fred Keehr of Iron Mountain; two sisters-in-law, Candy Buchcuski of Florence, Wis., and Norma (Paul) Raboin of Loretto.

In addition to his parents and wife, Chris, Doug was preceded in death by one sister, Beverly Keehr.

In accordance with Doug’s wishes, a celebration of life will be announced in the spring.
