Robert P. Peters

He was born in Iron Mountain on April 4, 1944, to the late Alfred and Ruth (Pollar) Peters. Bob was a graduate of Iron Mountain High School. Shortly after graduation, Bob joined the Marine Corps, serving three years of active duty. He continued his education at Northern Michigan University.

Following graduation, Bob took a position with Wisconsin Electric, working with them for 42 years, retiring on Feb. 28, 2011. Bob enjoyed spending his time outdoors, fishing and hunting or playing cribbage with family and friends.

Bob is survived by his four children, Gail (Chad) Hutchings, Amy (Jason) Karp, Wendy Peters, and Scott (Shena) Peters; nine grandchildren, Alexis, Aubrey, Zack, Chloe, Sabrina, Valorie, Ethan, Austin, and Analise; two siblings, Cynthia (Calvin) Baird and Leonard (Annette) Peters; and other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two siblings, Mary Fabry and Alfred “Sunny” Peters.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, Jan. 2, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home, 901 Carpenter Ave. The funeral service will be officiated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with President Ben France presiding at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
