Christopher Capra

He leaves behind his wife, Stephanie, and stepson Jake (wife Beth) Mann; Mom and stepdad, Debbie and Tom Gursky; Dad and stepmom, Larry and Kristine Capra; sister Kimberly Warren; nieces and nephew, Kathryn Warren, Andrew and Elisa Warren, and Emily Warren; brothers-in-law and families, Steve and Tracy Feldscher and Christopher and Courtney Feldscher.

His close friends were always a part of his extended family … “Brother” was a name he used for those friends he held close.

Chris was born on Oct. 31, 1971, in Iron Mountain, attended and graduated from Kingsford High School, graduated from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, lived and worked in Denver. Chris’s love for the Upper Peninsula remained strong, but his sanctuary was on a trail in Colorado hiking or mountain biking. His quiet faith in God was also strong since making a Youth Encounter retreat as a teenager at Marygrove in Garden.

A gathering to remember Chris will be held in Golden, Colo., and Iron Mountain at a later date. Memorial donations can be made in Chris’s name to The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, Colo.
