Duane ‘Bud’ Miller

Bud was born on Nov. 3, 1950, to David and Gertrude Miller. He graduated from Kingsford High School in 1970. Bud worked for Lake Shore Inc. for 25 years before going on to serve with the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, retiring after years of dedicated service.

An avid outdoorsman, Bud enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing, making maple syrup and spending time at his camp. Bud’s love of hunting and fishing took him moose hunting in Newfoundland, Canada, whitetail deer hunting in Saskatchewan, Canada, and halibut and salmon fishing in Alaska.

Bud is survived by his sister, Christine (Fran) Kluth. He is also survived by his sons, Bud (Cindy) Miller and Mark (Marcy) Miller; daughter Laura (Corey) Sarder; and 10 grandchildren.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, David and Gertrude.

Per Bud’s wishes, no service will be held. A celebration of Bud’s life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced.

Bud will be missed by those who knew him.
