AMASA — Jeannette M. Rauhut, 52, of Amasa, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson in Iron Mountain.
She was born on Jan. 27, 1973, in West Chicago, the daughter of Christine (Smith) Kirkpatrick and the late Michael Kirkpatrick Sr. Jeannette graduated from Crystal Lake, Ill., High School.
Jeannette married John Rauhut on Nov. 15, 1996, in McHenry, Ill. John and Jeannette celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary in 2025.
Jeannette and John owned and operated the Amasa Sawblade Bar & Grill. Jeannette enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also liked participating in shotgun sports, going antiquing, taking side-by-side rides with John and beekeeping.
Jeannette is survived by her husband, John; son Robert Peter Rauhut of Ringwood, Ill.; daughters Alexandra Lee (fiancé Jacob Mehring) Rauhut of Ringwood, and Emily May (Ryan McKee) Rauhut of Amasa; grandchildren Jerry Hayes, Taylor Scott and Spencer Lewis; mother Christine Kirkpatrick of Algonquin, Ill.; brother Keith (Cory) Kirkpatrick of Algonquin; sister Pam (Michael) Barrett of Algonquin; nieces, nephews; extended family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Peter Kirkpatrick.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Johnsburg, Ill., and then at the Amasa Sawblade.
