Kerry “Buzz” Berdinner

VULCAN — Kerry “Buzz” Berdinner, 73, of Vulcan, passed away on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at his home.

He was born on Aug. 3, 1952, in Iron Mountain, to the late Thomas and Mardell (Thorsen) Berdinner.

He was a graduate of Kingsford High School, Class of 1971. He married Lisa Lake on Feb. 11, 1995.

He loved hunting, fishing, and playing horseshoes. He played for Partanens ringers. He loved fixing things. If he put his mind to it, he could fix anything. He enjoyed woodworking and built a beautiful curio cabinet and gun cabinet. He enjoyed coaching girls’ softball for his daughters.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Berdinner; sons Joshua Smith, Jason Berdinner, Brandon (Crystal) Berdinner, and Jamie Berdinner; daughters Brooklyn (Neil) Taylor, Jessica (Tim Carter) Smith, Samantha (Nick) Harvath; brother Mark (Jeanne) Berdinner; sister Jean (Keith) Legault; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; aunt Jean Brouillette; sisters-in-law Linda Robinson, Lisa Lake, Rose Scott, and Sandra (Don) Powalka; brother-in-law Jerry Lake; a special friend who he considered a son, Don Koerner; and his special grand pup, Finn, who he loved spending time with.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Frank; and mother-in-law Beverly Lake.

Visitation will be held from 9 until 11 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 22, at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. A Celebration of Buzz’s life will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Jim Danielson officiating. Burial will take place at Norway Township Cemetery.
