IRON MOUNTAIN — Kim Marie (Rouse) Taunton, 58, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2025.
Kim was born Nov. 26, 1967, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Vernon and Vera (Hord) Rouse. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1986.
Kim dedicated much of her professional life to helping others. She worked for several years as a counselor at Northpointe, where she supported individuals in need, and she also played a meaningful role in reuniting foster children with their parents. She also spent many years as a waitress, serving with warmth and care at Perkins Restaurant in Houghton and the Harbor Haus in Copper Harbor.
A woman of strong faith, Kim was a devoted Christian and longtime attendee of Family Baptist Church, where her beliefs brought her comfort and guided her daily life.
Kim found great joy in creative pursuits and the simple pleasures of life. She loved needlework, particularly knitting and crocheting, and took special pride in making hats for her grandchildren. An avid photographer, she delighted in capturing the beauty of nature and wildlife. She also enjoyed shopping, crafting, thrifting and hunting for treasures at garage sales. Kim found special joy in cooking and baking, especially preparing meals for her family during the holidays.
Above all else, Kim cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. Spending time with them was her greatest happiness and the light of her life.
Kim is survived by her four children, Jessi Faccio, Joshua (Kelly Jo) Faccio, Christopher Vincent, and Mason Moore (Hunter); her significant other, Ryan A’des; five brothers, Mike Rouse, Edward (Teresa) Rouse, James Rouse, William Rouse, and John Rouse; four grandchildren: Shanayelee, Silas, Sienna, and Shymichael; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Jennifer Promenchenkel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Vera Rouse.
Kim’s loving presence, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the memories she created, and the love she shared so freely.
Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Family Baptist Church, 1001 Hemlock St. in Iron Mountain. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church. Pastor Kevin Sullivan will officiate.
