WILSON — Leo R. Sjoholm, 93, of Wilson, passed away on Friday, Dec. 26, 2025, at Transition Assisted Living in Gladstone.
Leo was born on Jan. 6, 1932, in Daggett to Gunard and Sophie (Klatt) Sjoholm. He was a 1949 graduate of Stephenson High School. On May 20, 1950, Leo married Caroline Fisher in Waukegan, Ill.
Leo farmed and worked as a welder at Harnischfeger until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing, dancing and playing cards. In his younger years, Leo enjoyed participating in shooting matches.
Survivors include his children, Carol Wells of Burleson, Texas, Leroy (Lexi) of Powers, Norma Sjoholm of Kenosha, Wis., David of Forest, Miss., Donna (Glen) VandeZande of Fond du Lac, Wis., Kevin (Elizabeth) of Fort Worth, Texas, Irene McDonald of White Pigeon, Mich., Steven of Palmetto, Ga., and Dorothy Debelak of Bark River; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Messar of Gladstone and Lucille Tolonen of Highland Park, Ill.; and nieces and nephews.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Gunard and Sophie; wife Caroline; son Robert; and granddaughter, Tamara.
Visitation for Leo will be held at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 10, from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 3 p.m.
A luncheon will follow at the Carney Nadeau American Legion Post in Carney.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Oakwood in the spring.
