Pamela Warodell
IRON MOUNTAIN — Pamela “Pam” Marie Warodell, 77, passed away on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, at her home in Iron Mountain, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Sept. 9, 1948, in Chicago, the eldest of five children born to James and Dorothy Clarke. She attended Harrison High School, where she graduated in 1966.
Pam was blessed with one son, Erik Armstrong, born in 1970, who was the center of her world. While raising her son, she built a strong work ethic and held several positions, including work for the United States government in Washington, D.C. She later returned to Chicago, where she worked in secretarial roles for companies such as Philip Morris and Arthur Rubloff Real Estate, always taking pride in providing for her family.
She married Allan “Al” Warodell, the man of her dreams, on Aug. 9, 1980, in Chicago. They built a life rooted in love and devotion. Al was her lifelong companion and her best friend.
In October of 1999, after completing their dream home, Pam and her husband moved to Upper Peninsula, where she enjoyed retirement. In the early 2000s, she returned to work for several years at the Dickinson County Community Foundation, helping organize local scholarships for high school seniors. She held this role until 2009, reflecting her care for education and her community.

Pam had a way with words and loved to use that gift through writing. She enjoyed creating stories and poems, writing thoughtful cards, and sharing cherished recipes with her family. She also took great pride in decorating her home for every season and holiday, and at Christmas, she lovingly prepared cookie tins to share with family and friends. Her greatest joy was her family, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She loved exploring the beauty of the Upper Peninsula with her husband, sharing laughter and jokes with her siblings, and watching her granddaughters grow up.
Pam is survived by her husband, Allan Warodell of Iron Mountain; her son, Erik (Carrie) Armstrong of Iron Mountain; and her beloved granddaughters, Annaliese (Kirk) Guckenberg of Chatham, and Emmarie Cross of Marquette. She is also survived by her four siblings, Deborah (James) Kusick of Iron Mountain, Patrice (Sam) Lorenzo of Buffalo Grove, Ill., Michael (Debbie) Clarke of Pingree Grove, Ill., and James (Kathy) Clarke of Athelstane, Wis.; her beloved mother-in-law, Asta Warodell of Norway; many cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom she adored dearly; and the family’s cherished cat, Nora.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy Clarke; her father-in-law, Carl Warodell; her sister-in-law, Kerstin Enk; and her aunt, Carol Rappel.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, the Center for Wound Healing in Iron Mountain, and OSF Home Health & Hospice in Escanaba, with a special acknowledgement to nurse Ashley.
Honoring Pam’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held in Chicago in the spring of 2026.
