Ronald Thompson
AURORA, Wis. — Ronald Lee Thompson, known by many as Ron or RT, of Aurora, Wis., passed away on Dec. 30, 2025, at Florence Health Services in Florence.
Ron, 79, was born on April 4, 1946, in Milwaukee, son of the late Bernice (Thompson) Pearson. He was a lifetime resident of the area and was a Florence High School Class of 1964 graduate. He worked for the Niagara Paper Mill from 1964 until his retirement in 2004. Ron was a Vietnam veteran, serving his country in the Marine Corps from 1966-1968.
Ron was an honest man that had a heart of pure gold. His endless love played a part in raising several children and helping many in need. To Ron, everyone was family and he was there to do all he could. He loved spending time with family and friends by playing cribbage, cards, sharing a meal, or just hanging out having a drink. In summer the Thompson’s deck was always a welcome and peaceful place for all, with an abundance of flowers and bird fly-ins and a great place to view all kinds of wildlife.
Ron also loved fishing, gardening, and most of all his friends and family. We’ll also remember that twinkle in his eye, and the mischief he could get into. He was affectionately referred to by his son-in-law as the “man of knowledge” for his ability to fix things creatively and come up with an easier way to do difficult tasks.
Ron is survived by his wife of 35 years, Debi Thompson. He is also survived by his children, Alicia Henderson, Heather (Art) Plemel, Shannon (Mark) Marcouiller, Deanna (Rick Whiting) Micoley, and Wayne Neuens; grandchildren Alexandria (Tad) Tieaskie, Pamela (Doug) Wiegel, Alyssa (Ethan) Blagec, Domenic (Aanika) Spigarelli, Casey (Dave) Schaack, Brittani (Jack) Zimmerman, Miranda Spigarelli, Paige (John Servia) Neuens, Landen Micoley, Colton Micoley, Dawson Micoley, Walker Neuens, Atlas Neuens, Caspian Neuens; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many other children that he had a part in raising, cousins, and friends, all in which he loved deeply. He was a mentor to many.

Our loved one may have passed, but his memory will live on forever. We will remember how his smile made us feel so loved, his laughter filled us with joy, and his love will live on always in our hearts. We will miss you so very much, dear RT!
A celebration of life will be held on April 4, 2026, which would have been his 80th birthday. There will be more details provided closer to this date.
Ron’s family also wants to thank the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center and Florence Health Services for their wonderful and compassionate care over these difficult past four years.
