Sharry M. Sandberg

SAGOLA — Sharry M. Sandberg, 78, of Sagola, was called home to Jesus on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026.

Sharry was born on March 27, 1947, in Sagola. She graduated from Channing High School. She belonged to Grace Presbyterian Church in Sagola for many years. Sharry worked for the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department for over 20 years before retiring.

Sharry loved her cat, Daisy, who she fed two gourmet meals daily. She always made sure the rabbits and birds in her yard were well fed as well. She enjoyed going for walks and occasional trips to the casino. Sharry loved shopping on HSN (Home Shopping Network) and always had the latest gadgets. If you needed something, she probably had it.

However, what she loved more than anything was her three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildrena. In 2011, she lost her only son, Randy, who she longed to be reunited with. After 14 years, she is now enjoying the sweetest reunion with him in Heaven.

She was also preceded in death by her mother and father, Alfred “Arky” and Helen Stroud, as well as brothers Wayne, Don, Harold and Gary Stroud.

Sharry is survived by her twin brother, Larry Stroud of Crystral Falls; and brother, Rod Stroud of Sagola. She is also survived by Shelly (Nick) Stroud of Perronville; three grandchildren, Breanne (Dillon) Steinbrecher of Iron Mountain, Derick (Clover) Stroud of Iron Mountain, and Chelsey (Sean) Conery of Norway; and nine great-grandchildren, Kashton, Kolten, Kamden, Kendall (Steinbrecher), Elaine (Stroud), Sean, Carson, Chloe and Tucker (Conery). She is further survived by many special nieces and nephews, Jeff (Melissa) Stroud, Dawn Stroud, Jade (Matt) Maeder, Jody (George) Beuth, Kathy Stroud, Rick Stroud, Brandon (Carrie) Stroud, Stacy (Bill) Keast, Ashley (Jeff) Anderson, and Scott Stroud; a sister-in-law, Jane Stroud; and her longtime best friend of 50 years, Sherri Process.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain, with a service to follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Brent will officiate, and burial will be at the Sagola-Channing Cemetery.
