IRON MOUNTAIN — Gordon J. “Gordy” Pepin Sr., 92, of Iron Mountain, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at Evergreen Meadows Assisted Living in Norway.
He was born Aug. 8, 1933, and raised in Ishpeming, a son of the late Napolean and Alice (Hoyd) Pepin. He served in the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years. In 1973, he moved to Gwinn, and in 1985, he made his home in Iron Mountain.
Gordy played baseball while in the service. He enjoyed go-kart racing in Aurora and hunting. For a number of years, he was an active sponsor for Alcoholics Anonymous.
Survivors include his son, Gordy Pepin of Vulcan; daughter Alice (Dan) Pepin of De Pere, Wis.; grandchildren Kacey (Ben), Corey, Riley (Taylor) and Tyler (Morgan); and great-grandchildren Dax, Barrett, Jovie, and Lawrence.
In addition to his parents, Gordy was preceded in death by three brothers, Ted, Rich and Bill Pepin; and by two sisters, Joan Chapman and Janet Franson.

Visitation will be held from noon until 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, March 14, at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Military honors will be awarded by American Legion Post 50 and the active Air Force at 1:30 p.m., with A Celebration of Gordy’s Life immediately following, on Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Deb Spira officiating.
Burial will take place in Northland Chapel Cemetery in Negaunee in the spring.
