QUINNESEC — Leonard William Bjornson, 86, of Quinnesec, passed away with his family by his side on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center – Dickinson in Iron Mountain.
He was born on Sept. 12, 1939, in Norway, the son of the late Bill and Effie (Lesnick) Bjornson.
Leonard graduated from Norway High School in 1957.
He married Lottie Dlugas of Bark River on Oct. 19, 1968, at St. George Church in Bark River.
Leonard was a self-employed logger all of his life. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and never missed a game, loved snowmobiling with the Tri-County Snowmobile Club, his Friday night Bowling League for the Knight Owl, hunting, making maple syrup, spending time at camp year-round, working in his very large garden and loved sharing all of his fresh vegetables with family, friends and neighbors.

Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Lottie; daughter Susie (Ken) Neuens; son Bill Bjornson; grandchildren who were his whole world, McKenna and Tyler Neuens; brothers-in-law John and Bob Dlugas; sister-in-law Sharon Dlugas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Stella and John Dlugas; sisters-in-law Joan and Linda Dlugas; brother-in-law Dan Dlugas; nephew Mike Weber; and niece Chris Quaghebeur.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at noon at the funeral home with Father Abraham Mupparathara of St. Mary Catholic Church officiating.
Interment to follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
Family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Maryhill Manor for the wonderful care they provided to Leonard during his time there.
