Francis ‘Lee’ Steinbrecher

Francis ‘Lee’ Steinbrecher

IRON MOUNTAIN — Francis “Lee” Steinbrecher, 55, of Upper Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 20, 2026.

Lee was born on April 28, 1970, in Anchorage, Alaska, and spent most of his life in Upper Michigan. He graduated from North Dickinson High School and married the love of his life, Kelly, on June 5, 1993. Together, they built a life centered on love, laughter, and time spent together.

A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Lee served during the Gulf War. His service shaped the steady, loyal man his family knew and loved. He carried deep pride for his country and never passed an American flag without smiling and saying, “Oh, look at Ol’ Glory.” Semper Fi.

Lee’s faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him with quiet strength and giving him peace that was evident to all who loved him.

Lee found joy in life’s simple moments. He loved a good car ride, a game of blackjack, a good book, and, most of all, being with his family. His easygoing nature and sense of humor made others feel at ease, and he had a way of reminding people that everything would be okay, and he never missed an opportunity to give a lecture.

His greatest title is Dad. More than anything, Lee was proud of his children, Dustin, Sabrina, and Cooper. He loved them deeply, showing it in both the everyday moments and the sacrifices he made for them.

He is survived by his wife, Kelly; his children, Dustin (Tori), Sabrina, and Cooper; his grandchildren, Cecelia and Harriet; his siblings, Brent (Angela), Gail, and Frank; his brothers-in-law, Jason (Sara) and Mike (Natalie); mother-in-law Cheryl Richer (Doug); sister-in-law Amie James (Eric); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mari Steinbrecher; his father, Frank Steinbrecher; his sibling, Douglas; and father-in-law Rodney Ott.

Lee leaves behind a family who will carry his spirit with them — on road trips, around the dinner table, and in every quiet moment they pause to remember the man who made ordinary days feel like something worth celebrating.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, from noon to 2 p.m. at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be held at Sagola Community Center following the service.

Condolences may be expressed to the family of Francis “Lee” Steinbrecher online at www.ernashfuneralhomes.com.

The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.
