Ginger Moore

KINGSFORD — Ginger Kay (Weber) Moore, 49, of Kingsford, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, after a courageous 17-month battle with cancer.

Ginger was a devoted wife of 20 years to Christopher Moore and a loving, proud mother to her two children, Gavin and Aubrie Moore, who were the center of her world. Her strength, determination and unwavering love for her family were evident in every moment of her life.

Ginger will be remembered as an energetic, assertive, strong, and persistent woman whose caring heart and compassionate spirit touched everyone she met. When you spoke with Ginger, she made you feel that you truly mattered. She had a gift for seeing the value in every person and making the most of every opportunity she was given. She was kind, generous, honest, and trustworthy, and her natural warmth and beauty shined both inside and out. She lived with purpose and integrity, inspiring those around her through both her actions and her words.

A gifted athlete and scholar, Ginger graduated from Gladstone High School in 1994, where she excelled academically and athletically, earning a place in the National Honor Society and later being inducted into the first Gladstone High School Sports Hall of Fame. Her talent and dedication led her to receive a full athletic scholarship to Northern Michigan University where she played basketball. She graduated magna cum laude with a teaching degree and was honored as Student Teacher of the Year for her class. Ginger continued her education at Northern Michigan University, earning her master’s degree in guidance counseling.

Ginger dedicated her life to education as a teacher, guidance counselor, and coach, where she made a lasting impact on countless young lives. She had a unique ability to connect with students, encourage their potential, and guide them with wisdom, compassion, and strength. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom and court, leaving a legacy in the hearts of the many students she mentored and inspired.

She found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. Ginger knew all of life’s little moments were really the ones that mattered. She loved cooking for her family and trying new recipes. She had a love for traveling and embraced opportunities to explore new places and experiences. She believed in constantly trying new things, always eager to discover something she might come to enjoy. Ginger cherished time with family and friends, rarely passing up an opportunity to join in any activity, and found peace in walks with her favorite pup, Koda. She lived each day to the fullest, filling her time with purpose, connection and a genuine enthusiasm for life.

With her little free time, Ginger had a wide variety of hobbies and interests. Without question her number one hobby was superfan for her children’s activities. No matter the size of the event, if Gavin and Aubrie were a part of it, Ginger was there taking photos from multiple angles often to the kids’ eyerolling. If the kids had a free moment, she could be found down at the lake looking for a boat ride, bonfire, cooking, or just a chance to hang with family. A lifelong athlete Ginger never quit her love for exercising. She was always up for a workout, crossfit class, bike ride, yoga, or pilates class. Anyone who knew Ginger knew her favorite hobby was to be “included”… she had a passion for being involved with the people she loved no matter the activity. After 20 years of saying no to animals she gave in and decided the kids needed a dog. Little did she know but God had sent her an angel in her favorite boy, Koda. During her courageous battle no one was by her side more than her favorite companion.

Throughout her illness Ginger demonstrated remarkable courage and resilience. She kept going … through every hard day, every setback, every unknown. Even in the most difficult times, her focus was unselfish and remained on her family. Her strength was an inspiration to all who knew her, and it will never be forgotten.

Ginger’s life was a testament to love, perseverance, and service to others. Though her time here was far too short, the love she gave will carry on … especially in her children, who are her greatest legacy. She is deeply loved and will be forever missed by all whose lives she touched.
