James B. McGregor

Jim was born Oct. 19, 1937, in Crystal Falls, son of the late Joseph and Lillian (Mackie) McGregor.

After graduating from Crystal Falls High School in 1955, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving until 1959.

Jim worked for the Allen Bradley Corp. in Milwaukee before returning to the area. He worked at the Groveland Mine and then as a mechanic at Lindahl before purchasing McGregors Mobil, which he owned for seven years.

In 1976, he purchased Superior Auto Sales in Crystal Falls, later known as McGregors Chevrolet & Pontiac, which he ran for 17 years. An avid outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Jim is survived by his two sons, Bryan (Linda) McGregor and Scott McGregor, both of Crystal Falls; his daughter, Jennifer (Mike) Ziegenhorn of Elmhurst, Ill.; his grandchildren, Cody, Joseph, and Ethan McGregor, and Holly Ann and Caydence Ziegenhorn; and one great-grandchild, Milena McGregor.

He is preceded in death by a son, James McGregor; a brother, Eugene McGregor; and an infant brother, Norman.

Visitation will be held 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, at United Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the church, with Pastor D.J. Rasner officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Crystal Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls.
