Marcia J. Garverick

She was born June 27, 1937, in Hartford, Mich., daughter of the late Clarence and Hattie (Hutchins) Haney. Marcia grew up in Hartford, and graduated from Hartford High School. Following graduation, she received her associate’s degree in nursing. Marcia worked as an RN for several hospitals, including the V.A. Hospital, for 44 years.

She enjoyed woodburning, cooking, painting, fishing, picking berries and mushrooms, and just being outdoors. Marcia was a member of the Kingdom Hall in Kingsford.

Survivors include her sons, Lyle (Barb) Merrill in Channing and Jay (Debbie) Merrill in Chassell; and her grandchildren, Phillip, Christina, Seth (Dannielle), and Kati (Stephen); and her great-grandchildren, Matthew, Carolyn, and Sloane.

In addition to her parents, Marcia was preceded in death by her first husband, Eldon Merrill; her second husband, Chris Garverick; her daughter-in-law, Carrie Merrill; and her great-grandson, Declan.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron Mountain. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Elder Dave Carpenter will officiate. Burial will take place in Channing Cemetery.
