Walter Wayne Hulce

NORWAY — Walter Wayne Hulce, 82, of Norway, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at his home.

He was born on Jan. 7, 1944, in Iron Mountain, the son of the late Fred and Mae (Witz) Hulce.

He graduated from Vulcan High School in 1962 and married Mary VanEynde on July 28, 1962, in St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan.

Wayne was a pipefitter and worked for UP Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 111, retiring in 1998.

He found great joy in his woodshop at camp, working hard on handcrafted items for everyone he knew.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary; son Jeff “Beaver”

Hulce; daughter Sheryl (Dave) Peroceschi; grandchildren Ryan (Brenna Wodenka) Peroceschi, Kristi (Zach) Bennett, Taylor (Eddie) Zanoni, Bobbi (Andrew) Stalheim and Tom (Emily) Hulce; great-grandchildren Evelyn and Nathan Zanoni and Lucille and Lorraine Hulce, Rylee and Aubree Peroceschi, Warren and Lincoln Bennett; brother Frank Hulce; sister Lois Ann Giuliani; sisters-in-law Nancy Hulce and Gloria Hulce; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Tammy Hulce; brothers Dave, Ron and Lyle Hulce; and sisters Alice Simonetti, June Hirte, Pauline King and Wanda Lesandrini.

Family will greet friends on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.

A memorial services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home, with Father Abraham Mupparathara of St. Mary’s Church officiating.
