IRON MOUNTAIN — Anthony “Tony” Ciulini, 76, of Iron Mountain, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette.

He was born April 27, 1950, in Capestrano, Italy, son of the late Gaetano “Guy” and Inez (Delcotto) Ciulini.

He immigrated to the United States as a young boy and graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1968. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Arizona State University.

A proud United States Army veteran, Tony served three tours in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division. He remained deeply connected to his military service throughout his life and was a longtime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Tony owned and operated the EconoWash Laundromat in Iron Mountain, which he ran successfully from 1972 until 1980. He was a skilled carpenter who took great satisfaction in fixing things and helping others with his talents. Tony loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, shooting, playing soccer, and golfing. He was also an avid football fan who loyally cheered for the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tony is survived by his daughter, Sarah (Edward) Ciulini Kunkel of San Francisco; his brother, Frank Ciulini of Kingsford; his former wife, Sandra Ciulini; his brother-in-law, Dan Slater; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Gabriella Slater.

His family extends heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans for their compassionate support.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 16, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 will conduct full military honors at the funeral home at noon.
