Peggy Angeloff

QUINNESEC — Peggy Angeloff, 73, of Quinnesec, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, May 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Iron River on July 31, 1952, to Jack and Bernice (Ratagick) Waite.

Peggy graduated from West Iron County High School in 1970. On Nov. 10, 1971, she was married to the love of her life, Leo Angeloff.

Her strong faith kept her active with St. Mary Catholic Church of Quinnesec and later St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Kingsford. She was an excellent CCD teacher and choir member. Peggy treasured time spent with family and friends, most of which were happy to receive her personalized knit Christmas socks or her delicious baking and cooking. She also enjoyed her time as a 4-H leader for over 30 years and just spending quiet time watching her birds.

Peggy will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 54 years, Leo Angeloff; three children, Mary (Dennis) Peterson, Tammy (Dave) Shay, and Michael (Genny) Angeloff; seven grandchildren, Sanj (Andrew) Peterson-Rajala, Michael Peterson, Matthew (Abby) Peterson, Marisa (Marcus) Fontaine, Zach (Eliana) Jennings, Gavin Shay, and Austin Angeloff; six great-grandchildren, Aubree Peterson, Elloise Rajala, John Peterson, Remington Fontaine, Logan Jennings, and Paisley Jennings; mother Bernice Waite; 11 siblings, Carol (Dave) Callovi, Tom (Toni) Waite, Mary Jo (Herb) Hoover, Mike (Theresa) Waite, Joan Waite, Tim (Billie Jo) Waite, Ray Waite, Barb (Steve) Penkevich, Donna Paraventi, John Waite, and Dan (Penny) Waite; special nephew Robert Angeloff; and many nieces and nephews.

Peggy is preceded in death by her father, Jack Waite; sister Patty Waite; parents-in-law John and Bernice Angeloff; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Debbie Waite, Robert Angeloff, and Pete Paraventi.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 11, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home, 901 Carpenter Ave., Iron Mountain. The funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 11, at the St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 600 Marquette Blvd., Kingsford, with Father Michael Woempner officiating. Burial will be in Quinnesec Cemetery.

Peggy’s family would like to thank the Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson Cancer Center team and the Hospice Care team for the excellent, compassionate care provided.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Peggy’s name to benefit the Dickinson County Cancer Unit Loan Closet of Kingsford.
