Stanley Strehlow
Stanley Strehlow
QUINNESEC — Stanley Strehlow, 86, of Quinnesec, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, just one day short of his 87th birthday.
Stanley was born in Suring, Wis., on May 5, 1939, and later moved to Quinnesec with his bride. He and Leila recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.
Stanley will best be remembered for his involvement with baseball. He coached several teams over the years, starting with T-Ball, then moving on to Little League, Babe Ruth, American Legion, Twilight, and Wishigan. He often coached as many as six games a week, and his summers revolved around baseball. He coached hundreds of kids, including his own, and each one of them has a story to tell about his coaching style. Every single kid he ever coached heard “take a lap!” at least once. He spent countless hours driving in circles prepping the fields, and he was proud of having the best baseball fields in the area.
When Stanley wasn’t coaching he was hunting, fishing, or at camp. He loved being in the woods, and at the young age of 85 he bagged his last eight-pointer while hunting with his sons.
Stanley worked at Grede Foundry for 44 years until his retirement, and was a volunteer for the Breitung Township Fire Department from 1969 to 1986. He was a member of American Martyrs Church in Kingsford.
Together Stan and Lee raised seven children, two grandchildren, and their great-grandson, Brent, in their Quinnesec home.
He is survived by his wife, Leila; daughter Deanna Strehlow and her children, Amanda Strehlow and Kym Bigger; son Les (Sonja) Strehlow and children, Char (Shane) Norberg, Paula Wilmer, and Lillie (Joshua) Enfinger; daughter Julie (Ray) Sroka and their children, Stephanie (Brian) Stanley, Nicole (Ryan) Squire, Kendra (Curtis) Brown, Ethan (Lauren) Sroka, and Aniesa Sroka; son Glenn (Kim) Strehlow and their children, Ryan (Beth) Strehlow and Carrie (Andy) Guetzke; son Carl Strehlow; son Brad (Cindi) Strehlow and their children, Piper (Thomas List), Maggie,
and Clairice. Stanley is also survived by his great-grandson, Brent, and 19 more great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Donna (Oz) Schnieder; a sister-in-law, Mary Strehlow; and several nieces and nephews.
Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Emma Strehlow; his brother, Jerry; and his son, Stan Jr.
Per Stanley’s wishes, a private gravesite service will be held later this summer.
