IRON MOUNTAIN — Betty Ann Aversano, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 1, 2026.
She was born on March 5, 1962, in Iron Mountain, to the late John and Pauline (Porte) Alquist.
Betty spent her entire life in the Iron Mountain-Kingsford (IM-K) area, where she built her life and raised her family. She recently relocated to Woodruff, Wis., to enjoy being closer to her daughters.
In 1981, Betty married John Aversano. Together, they raised five amazing children. Betty loved animals and found great joy in collecting antiques and unique knick-knacks over the years.
She is survived by her loving children, Ann (Troy), Nichole, Jennifer, John, and Amy; grandchildren Tyler, Zachary, Walter, Ethan, and River; brothers Tim Alquist, Bill (Antonella) Alquist, David (Carolyn) Alquist, and Bob (Melody) Alquist; and many nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until noon on Saturday, June 6, at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. A celebration of Betty’s life will follow at noon on Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Jim Danielson officiating. Please come to honor Betty’s life and memory.
