VULCAN — It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Norma Snowdon, 82, of Vulcan, who passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center – Dickinson in Iron Mountain.
She was born in Norway, on Jan. 10, 1944, the daughter of the late Edward and Norma (Giuliani) Bertolini. Joyce grew up with her siblings, Kenny and Lois in Norway.
Joyce’s life was one filled with love, laughter, and dedication, particularly to her family, who were her proudest achievements. She shared an extraordinary partnership with her husband, Jim Snowdon, whose unwavering love and support were constants throughout their marriage. Together, they created a life enriched by family and devotion.
Joyce was survived by her husband, Jim Snowdon; her children, Mark (Annette) Stanek of Hopkins, Minn., Ron (Mary) Stanek of Greenleaf, Wis., Dan (Chris) Stanek of Bloomington, Minn., and Scott Stanek of Mesa, Ariz.; grandchildren Sarah (Johnny) Kane, Matthew, Austin, Sam, Alex, and Ryan; great-grandchildren Jamison, August, and Bowie; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

As we say goodbye to Joyce, we find solace in the life she shared and the memories that will remain in our hearts.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Norway.
A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held on Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church, with Pastor Jim Danielson officiating. A luncheon will follow.
